Our team of researchers has examined and refuted Russia's claims to the heritage of Kyivan Rus – the first state founded with its capital in Kyiv – and the incorrect claim that Russia played a primary role in establishing Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe. The study also explores how Kremlin propagandists use these myths in the information warfare against Ukraine.
