Russia’s war in Ukraine manifests itself in various forms, each intricately interconnected: cultural destruction, forced deportations, and compromised security have disrupted the global order, all stemming from the actions of a single country. On May 2nd, the Stockholm Free World Forum (Frivärld) convened a conference titled “The Many Faces of Russia’s War in Ukraine” featuring the participation of Dmytro Raiskyi, Advocacy Manager of PR Army.
During the seminar, speakers shared insights into the complex impacts of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, focusing particularly on the harmful effects of Russian disinformation campaigns on Ukraine’s cultural identity and the issues faced by deported Ukrainian children. The discussions then shifted to actionable strategies for Sweden, the EU, the NB8, and the broader democratic community to address these urgent concerns more effectively.
“First, I want to thank Sweden for its unwavering and steadfast support for Ukraine. I urge Sweden to take the lead in advocating for the imposition of broader sanctions on Russian individuals who are accountable for the crime of forced deportations of Ukrainians. By imposing targeted sanctions on Russian citizens involved in this atrocity, it will send a clear message and encourage other nations to follow suit,” Dmytro Raiskyi said.
The seminar, organised in collaboration with the Nordic Ukraine Forum, featured esteemed speakers, including Simonas Kairys, the Minister of Culture of Lithuania; Andrij Plachotnjuk, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Sweden; Linda Jerneck, an Editorial Writer at Expressen; and Magnus Berntsson, a Member of Parliament for the Christian Democrats. The discussion was expertly moderated by Anna R. Guthrie, Director of the Stockholm Free World Forum.
