In December 2024, Anastasiia Marushevska, Editor-in-Chief at Ukraїner International and Co-founder of the NGO PR Army, visited leading universities in the United Kingdom to speak about Ukraine, engage with students and academics, and shed light on critical issues shaping Ukraine's future. The tour was supported by UCL Ukrainian Society, Ukrainian Youth Organisation in the U.K. C.I.C., KCL Ukrainian Society, and Oxford University Ukrainian Society.

Together, they explored how Russia uses media, education, and cultural indoctrination as tools to erode Ukrainian identity and maintain influence over Ukraine.

Anastasiia delved into the persistent colonial mindsets that linger decades after independence. She highlighted Ukraine’s unique case, where over 400 years of Russian imperial domination left deep scars on its language, culture, and academic narratives. She emphasized the need to expand postcolonial studies to include Eastern European perspectives and confront Russia’s ongoing imperial ambitions, arguing that decolonization is essential for securing Ukraine’s sovereignty and identity.
