Jan E. Jørgensen (Member of Parliament, Venstre) hosted the conference in collaboration with the PR Army, Rasmussen Global and the Economic Security Council of Ukraine. The conference brought together experts to discuss how the West can target Russia's military supply chains in the next sanctions packages.
Speakers:
- Jan E. Jørgensen (Member of Parliament, Venstre);
- Anders Fogh Rasmussen (Chairman of Rasmussen Global, former Secretary General of NATO and former PM of Denmark);
- Andrii Yanevskyi (Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark);
- Olena Yurchenko (ESCU Senior Advisor);
- Ilona Khmeleva (ESCU Secretary);
- Denys Hutyk (ESCU Senior Advisor); Phillip Kjær Luscombe (Project Manager at Rasmussen Global).
In his opening remarks, Anders Fogh Rasmussen (Chairman of Rasmussen Global) highlighted that 2,800 unique foreign components had been found in destroyed Russian equipment.
According to Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Western allies need to refocus on three key areas:
1. First, we should strengthen the enforcement of existing sanctions to ensure that Western components do not reach Russia.
2. Second, we need to enhance our sanctions against Russian heavy industry, which supports the war effort.
3. Finally, we should utilize Russian assets to fund Ukraine's victory and recovery. Russia has reorganized its society to prioritize the production of tanks, bullets, and artillery shells, indicating their preparation for a prolonged conflict. Therefore, we must be equally prepared.
