International Conference “Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine Thought the South

The international conference "Crimea Global. Understanding Ukraine through the South" was held in Kyiv from October 14-16, 2023.

The event gathered experts, public figures, and Nobel laureates from countries across the Global South, including Colombia, Qatar, India, South Africa, Venezuela, and others. Key topics discussed included post-colonialism, democracy, the global impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and food and energy security.As part of the conference, international delegates visited Kyiv-region towns previously occupied by Russian forces, such as Motyzhyn, Bucha, and Irpin, as well as the Romanivka bridge, which was destroyed during the conflict. This visit allowed participants to engage directly with local residents and human rights defenders.
